Site Aesthetics

BDSM has so many fans yet I rarely see a good site that doesn't look like something that came out from the depths of hell. I mean, ever since that popular porn novel hit the mainstream theaters, even people who aren't into S&M had their own fantasies of being dominated by a hyper-rich perverted guy or being that guy dominating a vixen in wolf's clothing.

BDSM is a kink and all kinks should be kinky. How come this site seems to have no kink at all when it comes to looks? While its content is the most important, the packaging should at least catch up with it. Even books should have a cover that represents their contents or they lose potential readers. It's just so boring looking at this website when every BDSM Library user is looking for exciting roleplay material to either fantasize about or re-enact.

To top off the very basic design of this site, it's even a landmine of external links. You might want to just keep on opening links on a new tab if you don't want to stray too far from this website.

Here's where the site's design gets even more boring. From the black and red homepage, it's now white and blue. Why? Who enjoys reading in the dark with a glaringly bright screen?

I was wondering why on the main page of their stories index, the displayed articles or stories are dated 2017. That's 5 years ago as of this review. So, I wondered if either the main page is not automatically updated, or that the stories I'm looking at are vintage. One thing I did was, of course, to check out their "latest" category. Turns out, they really have old materials with the latest content posted in September 2017. Although some stories are timeless, I'm not sure if that applies to sex fantasy and experience.

One more thing of the many things I dislike about BDSM Library is its categories. If you're accessing BDSMLibrary.com with a free membership, you can only use a few almost useless categories such as Newest Stories, Highest Rated, Most Voted, The Longest, Recent Popular, Overall Popular, List by Title, and List by Author. Now, labeling those things as useless is not a baseless accusation. First of all, I know I'm right. Second of all, they don't have any new content. Their authors are mostly amateurs and some only have one submission. Votes don't guarantee good writing because some good ones don't have votes at all. My reasons will just go on.

Forums

BDSMLibrary.com is like a forum itself for a community of BDSM enthusiasts that hosts a forum. Their forum has the best appearance so far.

However, what's most important about forums is not just the background color and accents of the place but the content and the number of active members.

Sure, BDSM Library Forum has interesting categories and sections. There's the BDSM Lounge where you'll find discussions of different topics - you might even find members who are couples who are also parents asking for advice on how to keep their BDSM lifestyle alive when they have a child.

Almost everything you might want to know has a place in this forum. If you need to ask something about your dom or slave, you might want to ask that question in this community. You'll find that although some people can't give a piece of solid advice, you'll still find the community helpful. Try to check out the existing topics first on BDSM Q&A first before you pop your own Q.
